Mitsuhiko Kawai has an extensive experience in investments and divestments in overseas in his career with Mitsui & Co.,Ltd.. For nearly two decades he was engaged in energy business, in particular the development of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).  Among many projects he was involved in, he represented Mitsui’s interest in the development of North West Shelf Project in Australia where he managed the investments in the development of upstream gas field, midstream pipeline and liquefaction, downstream marketing and financing. Later he was engaged in financial business area, responsible for managing a leasing company, venture capital investment, buyout, and REIT operation. He was President of Mitsui &Co., USA, Inc., responsible for managing Mitsui’s operation in North America and Latin America which had, under its wing, an extensive investments and business portfolio in the region.
